Join us at The Vine @ 9am on Saturday, April 27th for worship and prayer.

Then, we will “Branch Out” into the community with different projects.

Read the description for each Service Opportunity and choose 1 to attend for the day.

Abba House Yard Cleanup Project

Abba House is a safe place where addicted, abused, and broken women and their children recover through God’s love. We believe that only divine intervention can heal the deep wounds of sexual and physical abuse, abandonment, rejection, and other tragic life experiences our residents have endured. Newly graduated women reside in a transition home as they transition from the program into jobs and life. The house where they live is in need of some yard cleanup.

Types of Task you will be performing:

  • Yardwork
  • Weeding
  • Weed-Whacking
  • Branch trimming
  • Shrub Cleanup
  • Mowing
  • Edging

Timeframe:

  • Meet at the Vine Church at 9:00am to meet your team, receive instructions, and carpool to the house). Work will begin at 10:00am until 1:30m

Local Assisted-Living Fieldtrip Project

Those living in assisted-living centers enjoy their time out. Instead of us going to minister to them at their facility, we are having several centers bring their residents to The Vine for a field trip day. Their outing will consist of a worship service, message, and communion, followed by a meal and entertainment.

Types of Task you will be performing:

  • Set-up
  • Assisting with the Worship, Message, & Communion Service
  • Meal Prep, Serving, and Cleanup
  • Playing Games and Fellowshiping with the residents
  • Tear-down

Timeframe:

  • Meet at the Vine Church at 9:00am to meet your team, receive instructions, and start set-up. Residents will arrive at 10:30 and stay until 2:00pm

Chestatee Elementary Classroom Cleanup Project

Chestatee Elementary School was built in 1931 through community involvement. Men brought their scoops and mules to make room for classrooms in the basement. They bought the timber from the stump and sawmilled it locally. They have been giving back to the community ever since. Now it time for us to return the favor. The school has two outdoor classrooms that are in need of cleanup.

Types of Task you will be performing:

  • Outdoor Area Cleanup
  • Weeding
  • Trimming

Silverleaf Neighborhood Cleanup & Block Party Project

The Silverleaf Community is the neighbor directly behind the church.   We want to know our neighbors and support them. There is one home in the neighborhood that is in need of a pine-straw makeover. After that, we will be organizing and hosting a neighborhood block party for their community.

Types of Task you will be performing:

  • Pickup pine-straw that the church is purchasing
  • Remove old pine-straw
  • Add new pine-straw
  • Organize the block party
    • Set-up event
    • Food & Drinks
    • Games
    • Music
    • Tear-down event

Timeframe:

  • For pinestraw – Meet at the Vine Church at 9:00am to meet your team, receive instructions, and head down to the neighborhood). Work will begin at 10:00am.
  • For the the block party set up will begin at 11:00am until 2:00pm

Meals By Grace Project

Meals by Grace prepares food for children and families living in our communities. They are in need of people to help sort and package groceries for local families.

Types of Task you will be performing:

  • Sort and Package Breads & Desserts, Dry/Canned Goods, & Fruit
  • Kitchen work
  • Dishwashing
  • Making Laundry Detergent

Timeframe:

  • Meet at the Vine Church at 12:30pm ON SUNDAY, APRIL 28 to meet your team, receive instructions, and carpool to the church). Work will begin at 1:00pm until 3:00pm

What to Bring:

  • $10 donation per person to help cover food costs
  • Cloth Grocery Bags
  • Always in need of:
    • Canned Fruit
    • Canned Soup
    • Middle and High School age Books
    • Dog/Cat Food
    • Bathroom Tissue
